We reached over 100 million people with a social media campaign that activated creators around the world in call for positive power

The campaign resulted in almost 30,000 people calculating how much of their taxes go towards subsidising fossil fuels.

Challenge

Seven trillion dollars last year flowed to fossil fuels in subsidies, big big tax breaks and cleaning up environmental damage done by fossil fuel companies. That’s citizens’ hard-earned taxes supporting the giant fossil fuel companies that have made record profits. Over the rest of our working lives, we could be paying even more. Unless we do something about it.

The impact of the campaign went beyond the internet and was shown at APEC Forum

Solution

We are pushing for positive power to stop the climate crisis. That means calling on citizens and industry to support the Positive Power Plan to promote adoption of renewable energy by governments, ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit and COP28. To garner public support, we developed and built a calculator to work out how much we personally contribute to fossil fuels in our working lives. We worked with celebrities like Sophie Turner and some of the biggest US and India- based social media creators, like Nas Daily and Prajakta Koli to spread the campaign message.

Utilising the power of art, the campaign could be seen in real life across various cities

Impact

We have had over 115 million impressions, and over 10 million views of creator posts, over 500,000 likes of posts.
